This is the oldest cemetery on the island. Excavations have shown that people were buried here as early as 900 AD. And also that over the centuries there have been no fewer than five churches. The Ons Schellingerland Foundation has had the ground profiles of these churches marked with various forms of concrete and copper slag. A sign has been placed at the entrance with explanations.
